A posting API for TikTok and Instagram

Pamba's REST API schedules a video to TikTok and Instagram in one call: POST /projects/{projectId}/schedule with a caption, a time and the account. The post goes out from that account's own iPhone, in the TikTok or Instagram app, at the booked time. The accounts are ones Pamba manages for you or ones you connected. You can set TikTok's and Instagram's AI label, the cover frame, or save it as a draft, and read the post's status back.

How does it work?

  1. 1. Create a workspace API key

In Pamba: workspace switcher, Settings, API keys. Every call sends it as the X-API-Key header to https://api.pamba.app.

  2. 2. Find the account to post from

GET /devices/accounts/inventory lists the TikTok and Instagram accounts on your Pamba phones and whether each one can take a post now.

  3. 3. Bring the video

Stage your own file with POST /uploads/videos (it returns a staged_video_url), or post a video Pamba generated for a project.

  4. 4. Schedule it

POST /projects/{projectId}/schedule with caption, scheduled_at (ISO 8601 UTC) and tiktok_username and/or instagram. Optional: ai_label, first_frame_cover, only_create_draft, Instagram trial reels and Facebook sharing. Both platforms land in one call or neither does.

  5. 5. Read the result

GET /devices/tiktok/posts/{postId} returns the post's status. A failed post can be retried with POST /devices/tiktok/posts/{postId}/retry.

Questions

How is this different from TikTok's own Content Posting API?

TikTok's Content Posting API posts to accounts that sign in to your app through TikTok, and TikTok restricts every post from an app that has not passed its audit to private viewing. Pamba's API posts from accounts on Pamba's phones, in the TikTok app itself, so there is no TikTok developer app or audit on your side.

Can I label posts as AI-generated?

Yes. Send ai_label: true and the phone turns on TikTok's AI-generated content switch and Instagram's AI label before it posts. If it cannot, the post fails and is retried rather than going out unlabeled.

Can I post the same video to several accounts?

Not on the same platform. A second account on the same platform with the same video is refused (duplicate_content), because TikTok and Instagram flag the same video posted by a second account. Make a new version of the video for each account.

Is there an MCP server too?

Yes, at https://api.pamba.app/mcp, with the same key. An agent like Claude Code can schedule posts with schedule_post. See the MCP server page.
