Account warming

Fresh TikTok accounts that immediately start posting look like bots. Warming fixes that. Pamba browses TikTok and Instagram on the account's device like a human would (watching, scrolling, searching your niche) to build an algorithm signal before and between posts. With a workspace niche set, each session judges what it watches against the niche, likes in-niche videos more often, and now and then follows the creator of an in-niche video, so the account's feed moves toward your niche.

How it works

• •Session queue: warming sessions are scheduled automatically and listed with status: pending, in progress, completed, failed, cancelled.
• •Daily pace: by default an account warms three five-minute sessions a day. A per-avatar config or a boost changes the pace.
• •Per-avatar config: set daily minutes, session count, and niche search terms for each avatar's account.
• •Terms the apps won't search: TikTok and Instagram show no results for searches with "porn", so a term with that word is refused when you save it. When TikTok tells the phone the phrase may break its guidelines, Pamba takes the term out at once. A "No results found" on either app takes nothing out: it can mean the topic has few videos or the account gets no search results yet, so the Pamba team checks it instead. A removed term leaves the account's or avatar's terms and the workspace's suggested terms, and you get an email naming it and an item on Home (unless you turned off account and credits emails).
• •A creator's handle as a search term: on TikTok the results show the creator's videos beside related ones, and the session opens one of them. On Instagram a small creator's handle often brings up only their account, with no Reels under it; the session then opens that account's own Reels and watches them, and moves to the Reels tab after the last one. A private account has no Reels to open, so that search falls back to the Reels tab.
• •One search a day: an account searches in one warming session a day at most, whatever its search chance or a boost's. Once a session has started a search, even one the app answers with nothing, the day's other sessions browse without one. Some days have no search. A warming day starts at 8 AM Pacific, when the day's sessions begin.
• •A new account's first week: searching your niche is what teaches TikTok and Instagram what the account is about, so for its first seven days of warming the longest of each day's sessions opens with that day's search on its search terms, whatever the search chance (a boost's included). If that session stops before its search starts, a later session that day searches instead. The day's other sessions don't search.
• •Session review: the account's Activity card shows each session's status, length, what it did (videos watched, likes, comment reads, creators followed, the search term) and sample screenshots, with a link to the full set; each finished follow request lists who was followed; each post, each daily health check and each comment or reply the account posted shows the phone's screenshots the same way, and profile edits sit in the same feed, newest first. An account with no avatar carries the card on its own page; an account assigned to an avatar opens it from the Activity action on its row in the avatar's Accounts tab. A cancelled session was stopped before or while it ran: most often a post or a new account's setup took the phone and the session was re-booked; otherwise the account was paused, reassigned or taken off the phone, it was cancelled by hand, the phone was cleared for maintenance, or it came due late after maintenance or a restart and its phone had no room left that day. One stopped mid-run still shows what it got through.
• •Cancel and retry: stop pending sessions or retry failed ones.
• •Workspace defaults: Settings → Workspace Settings → Account warming has the workspace's defaults for both switches, which a new avatar and a new TikTok or Instagram account with no avatar start with; an account added to an avatar takes that avatar's setting. When a workspace admin changes one, Pamba asks whether to change it for every existing account and avatar too or only for new ones. Use it, for example, to stop all your accounts following anyone when they are your own and you choose who they follow. The assistant and the API (PUT /workspaces/{workspaceId}/account-warming) do the same. Warming keeps running either way, and follow lists are separate and keep working.
• •Turning one account's searches or follows off: each account has two switches of its own, which start at the workspace's defaults (above), both on unless an admin changed them. With searches off, its warming sessions never search, a new account's first-week search included, and browse the feed only; its search terms are kept for when you turn searches back on. With follows off, its sessions follow no one. Where the search terms are, the switches are: on the page of an account that belongs to no avatar, and on an avatar's page (Accounts tab, Warming card) for the accounts linked to it, where a change applies to all of the avatar's accounts, shared ones included, and to an account linked to it later that no other avatar links. "Search while warming" sits on the search terms (the terms can be edited only while it is on) and "Follow creators while warming" below them. You can also ask the assistant, or use the API (PUT /devices/accounts/warming with searches_enabled and follows_enabled for one account, PUT /avatars/projects/{projectId}/selected-avatar with warming_searches_enabled and warming_follows_enabled for an avatar's accounts). Warming keeps running either way, from the account's next session.
• •No search terms for one account or avatar: removing every term from an account's or avatar's search terms leaves it with none, and its warming doesn't search. The terms you removed don't come back. Until you set terms of your own, warming uses terms suggested from your niche; "Use suggested terms" brings them back after you cleared the list.

Warming boost

A boost warms one account harder for a set time, then lets it go back to its own pace by itself. Use it on a new account, or on one whose feed has drifted away from your niche: sessions that open with a search on your niche terms are what pull a feed back, and a boost can make every day search.

• •What it changes: the number of warming sessions per day (1 to 5; normally three) and the chance each session opens with a search until one has searched that day (0 to 1; normally 0.35). Set either or both, for 1 hour up to 14 days; changing the sessions per day needs at least a day. The day's warming never gets shorter than the account's own. Searches use the account's search terms, or the workspace's niche terms when it has none.
• •When it applies: the search chance applies from the next session. The daily sessions are booked early each morning (10:00 UTC), so a boost started during the day adds sessions from the next day on. A boost only changes sessions the account gets anyway: an account whose warming is off or paused stays off.
• •What it leaves alone: the account's settings and search terms. When the boost ends, on its own or when you end it early, there is nothing to undo. Renaming the account also ends its boost.
• •Where to set it: ask the assistant, or use the API (PUT /devices/accounts/warming/boost, see the API reference). It works for accounts assigned to an avatar and unassigned ones alike.

Safety caps

Warming stays within platform norms, boosts included: at most 60 minutes per day across at most 5 sessions per day per account, and at most one follow per session and 20 follows per account in any seven days. Ads and creators who look under 18 are never liked or followed. Posts and account setup take priority: a scheduled post can displace a warming session on the same device, and a new account being set up on that device takes the slot of a session that has not started yet. A displaced session is re-booked.
